Fall Drawing Courses

Registration has now began for fall art classes.

Welcome to the Official Website of Melissa Schatzmann

Melissa Schatzmann, a self-taught artist specializing in wildlife & portraits, works mainly in graphite & coloured pencils. Her subjects range from children, wildlife, pets, and flowers.

Melissa has taught over a 1000 adults & children in how to draw people & pet portraits through Loyalist College. She has also designed Ontario's first online drawing classes offered throughout the year in 3 semesters in both pencil & colored pencils. These online courses can be registered in over 7 community colleges. Melissa also offers children art lessons in Drawing Animals through Loyalist and conducts private lessons in her home. With a lifetime of techniques and tips she doesn't hold anything back in teaching them to her students. Take a look at some of the drawings that her young students have drawn over the years.

Melissa's artwork has been published in a high school textbook through McGraw-Hill Ryerson as well as an international promotional brochure through Sakura Products of America. You can browse the art gallery to view her portfolio of portraits and wildlife amongst other works of art.

She continues to be enthrawled by the wonderments of the world around her in creating true-life drawings of people, nature and animals in her work. Melissa achieves high realism in each of her drawings in paying close attention to detail in capturing the essence of her subjects.

Her portraits have been commissioned throughout Canada, U.S. and Europe. As one of the founding members of The Group of Twelve, Melissa dedicates herself in exhibiting her work nationally and internationally.
